Waking Up
They have completely taken Susan off of the sedatives. Yea!!!! She is slowly coming around. They have also stopped the oxygen flow. She is totally breathing on her own. Another yea!!!! Now we wait...she must be fully conscious and give a signal that she is aware that they will be taking the tubing out before they can actually take it out. By the end of today she should be whisper talking and communicating with us. Oh my word, we never imagined she would recover this quickly. We know this is because she is being watched over, prayed over, blessed, and loved. If all goes well, she can be moved out of the CCU as early as tomorrow. Her blood pressure is still a little low. They may give her some more blood. She has also not broken the fever. They are slightly concerned by this. They have taken some saliva to test and then we will know more.

Hi Dick and kids... I learned about Susan's illness this morning and you have all been in my thoughts today. I am so happy to read that she is making such strides to improve- we are all praying for her recovery! God is watching over her!
Warmly, Jacki (Jorgenson) Kritzeck
Hi Susan, Richard and kids,
We were all saddened when we heard about Susan on Sunday night. It was quite surprising, but we are so happy she is doing so well. You are all in our thoughts and prayers, and we're sure Susan will make a complete and quick recovery, because she's Susan, and because of your great supportive family. We have so many happy memories of Susan and your family as we enjoyed lots of fun parties together, etc...my kids still talk about the delicious pork tenderloin we ate at your house our last sunday in Minnesota before moving to Australia. I've tried to duplicate it, but no such luck. Anyway, I think the greatest thing about Susan (and Richard too, of course) is that we always felt loved by them. And that's been a real blessing to our whole family. We're thinking of you! Love,
Nancy and Dave Homer and Family
Hi Susan and family, When Richard once told me that he knew you could handle any situation if he happened to be out of town, I don't imagine he was thinking of something like this! I hope you are feeling better. You are a marvelous and strong person, so no heart attack is going to keep you down. It does all sound rather icky, so remember many people love and respect you and want you to be better. Love, Mary Jane Raymond
We are so grateful for the news of Susan's continued improvement!
Cisneros family prayers have become so much more frequent, sincere, and heartfelt as we have prayed for "Sisty" Coon and family.
Stories are so many - everyone wanted to share something.
One of my first memories of Susan was when we had just moved to Minnesota and she was up on the stage doing a skit with the P1 Young Women. I didn't yet know her but my very first memory was of my thought "She's awesome. I wish I could be like her someday." (Now that I know her better, my desire is only increased.)
So many wonderful memories of being loved by the Coons -- in their home, at church, on campouts, and most recently in Virginia. Here are some from the kids.
Emma remembers when we got pulled over by the police when we were at Dick Cheney's hideout up in the mountains and Susan kept saying "Richard!' 'Richard! You're going to get us all in trouble."
Bryan's thoughts were of standing on the rocks with Susan overlooking the Shenandoah valley and playing her player piano. Also of the journal she gave him at his baptism.
Kathryn remembers Susan going with her to her kindergarten "Grandparents day" and many good times watching Alice in Wonderland and hanging out in the Coon family room on the chairs that rock while her mom and dad were at church meetings. "I loved their parties," she said.
Eliza loves it that "Sisty" Coon always calls her 'Eliza Jane.' "It makes me feel special," she said.
And Benjamin goes to sleep every night with his "Blue Ted" -- a teddy bear that Richard and Susan brought over to him when he was a baby.
Love to all, Shannon and the Cisneros Get well soon!

Hi
Susan is one of the kindest and insightful people I know. She is a first class nurse and a first class person.
My prayers are with her and her family and friends. I will be following her new journey closely.

Dear Coon family--
I just want to let you know that I will be praying for Susan and the family through this difficult time. I worked with Susan at Carlson urgent care in Minnesota. My heart sank when I heard the news tonight at work. Susan is a kind and loving person. Please know that I will keep her in my prayers and I will continue to visit this site.
Sincerely, Kim Amundson
Jamie,
Thanks for calling tonight. We all care for your Mom and have the highest regard for her. Knowing she would share a shift with me always made the day lighter. Greet your Dad and siblings. You are all, with your Mom, in our thoughts and prayers this evening.
Michael Manning
