Monday Morning
Susan is doing very well this morning. She was trying to open her eyes. She went in for a CT scan last night. Her doctors were not pleased with the images and so unfortunately she had to have another one today. We don't have any results from either tests. She is very swollen and puffy due to lack of movement of her limbs. Her hands look like they did 30 years ago. No wrinkles!!! She is still pretty heavily sedated. Because of the repeat CT scan they were not able to take her off of the ventillator and feeding tube. Hopefully this evening they will be able to do that. The swelling and bruising in her face is going down. She looks much better than she did even yesterday. This hospital is taking such good care of her. It is rated as one of the top 25 for cardio care. She is in great hands!

Dear Richard, Susan and all: I'm so thankful that Mari e-mailed Maren to let us know what has happened. We are praying for all of you - and sending many heartfelt good wishes for Susan's quick recovery. What a miracle that she was in the hospital when she had her attack - God is good!
We still miss THE BEST NEIGHBORS IN THE WORLD!! (Although now OUR lawn looks better than the one next door, instead of the other way around as it used to be!) We always felt it was such a privilege and honor to be included in the family gatherings at graduation, weddings, etc. And I have always loved the springtime because Susan and I would weed our gardens and chat - a very cherished memory of a wonderful woman who I miss a great deal since she moved away. Also - I loved taking care of the birds, bunny and dogs - I miss them, too!
Susan has been added to the prayer list here at Mount Olivet - so there will even be lots of Lutherans praying for her recovery! We will be checking this closely to keep updated on her condition - thanks for doing this!
We love you all -
Kevin, Joy, Maren and Anna Miller
Dear Susan,
I am so grateful you are getting better. We carry you in our hearts and constant thoughts. Giving thought to a happy memory of you was a challenge because I have a million great memories. We have been friends along time you are truly my sister.
One memory that comes to mind: Remember when we went to girls camp with our daughters? You talked me into going Bog Stomping. They outfitted me in a pair of boots that were to big for my feet. I was nervous because of the frogs and worried about snakes. You told me to hang on to the back of you waist and you would lead the way. My right boot sunk down in to the bog. And when I lifted my leg up my foot came out of the boot. I lost by balance quickly falling over and taking you down with me. We lay on our sides in the wet bog and laughed so hard. We were rediculous. Susan for me you have always led the way. Your sweet example has always made me want to be a better daughter of our heavenly father. You have so many talents that inspire me. No matter how long between our phone conversations we always pick up where we left off. I love you, Richard and your whole beautiful family. I wish you were still here in Minnesota. You are in our constant thoughts and prayers.
love you much,
Jacque Barnhart
Dear Richard and Children,
I just heard about Susan's medical condition this evening. I always loved working with Susan in Urgent Care and miss her very much. We always had lots of fun talking about our families including the furry, four legged ones. Once in a while we did get some work done! I was just thinking about all of you the past couple of days. Please know all of you are, and will be, in David and my prayers. Love and Blessings
Katie Linder
